We have been friends for over 7 years - and one day Qais proposed. Early on in our careers, we met at a media company we both worked for. Despite outgrowing roles, relationships and surviving pandemics, our connection endured, fostered through the shared pages of a book club. We kept cheering each other on in our creative pursuits: Qais completing a horror film and Rebeca working in professional sports.

Sharing in our successes and failures with each other has always felt so good. The relationship always grounded in a good laugh, some cultural commentary and thousands of shared tweets, movies, and documentaries. Truly, the planets aligned on that day that we both made an active decision that we were each others soul mates - and that we would build a home in Hamilton with our dog and cat. Our wedding ceremony is rooted in sharing this deep gratitude we both feel for our paths to have crossed.
